One chapter is enough to start. A person reads it, and we come back to you about what publishing it with Grand would look like.

What we
look at.
Four things, in this order. Not a scorecard, and not a form letter with your title pasted into it.
- Readiness
- Whether the manuscript is at a stage where editorial work will improve it, or whether it needs another draft first.
- Structure
- How the book is built: what it opens with, where it loses its grip, what is doing work and what is not.
- Voice
- Whether somebody is speaking on the page. This is the thing that cannot be added later.
- Fit
- Whether Grand is the right publisher for this particular book — which is not always yes.
Send the work
Your manuscript does not need to arrive as a pitch deck.
One representative chapter and a paragraph about what the book is trying to do. That is enough for a first read.
Privacy, and what you are not agreeing to
- Sending a manuscript grants Grand no rights in it. You keep the copyright and everything else.
- We use what you send only to read and respond to the work. We do not sell author data.
- There is no obligation on either side, and no proposal arrives without a conversation first.
- Ask us to delete your submission at any point and we will.
